Mt . Rushmore of Hokie hoops is Bristow, Coles, Combs, Curry, Custis, and Smith. Then there are guys like the ones sofla mentioned and then you have the Dale Solomons. The team itself will rank high. Our hoops history is not great but was watered down some by bad coaching hires like Allen, Hussey, Stokes, and JJ. When we’ve hired good coaches our teams are good. One of the best coaching jobs was by Bill Foster who is often forgotten but he pulled the program out of a Frankie Allen pit. He was a good man too and the program was setback by the metro dissolution and having to go into the A10 but he won the NIT and went to the tourney the year after
